Essential oils

Essential oils, with all of its health benefits, are known and used for centuries to address physical, mental, emotional and spiritual imbalances. It has been used nowadays to complement specific therapies and as a therapy itself.
They were used by ancient cultures for healing, removing evil spirits, raising spiritual awareness, purification, protection, ritual and pleasure.

The tiny sacs of oil that form in the leaf or seed or flower of a plant hold its own healing power. The smell of a beautiful flower brings us to the present moment more immediately than any other human sense.

Another aspect of the essential oils is its high vibratory field. The integration of the high vibratory aspect of essential oils on therapies enhances and complements the work being done on the patient at a deeper level.
The chemical compounds of a plant have a strong affinity with the subtle bodies of a person due to its high vibration, which is also an indication of its concentrated healing power. That’s why smelling organic, high quality essential oils is widely considered as a spiritual experience with psycho active powers. It is capable of touching and harmonizing our emotions and spiritual connection.

Essential Oils are the most subtle aspect of the plant, triggering the brain to release certain hormones and bio chemicals that produce beneficial changes in the physical body, while creating new connections in the brain. With essential oils together with certain practices, we can control and direct these changes to the areas of the body where it is needed.

The use of essential oils offers many unexpected joys since they stimulate the body´s cells back to a healthy balance and awaken the mind to a new creativity.  They are effective at balancing emotions, centering the mind, and eliminating physical pain, inflammation and toxicity.

Another beautiful aspect of essential oils lies in the fact that through these plant aromas, we tap into the ancestral realm (plants are ancestors). We tap into a ‘long before humans’ source of knowledge.

Connecting with plant energy is connecting with ancestral wisdom, and we should keep a respectful openness to the effects of such healing blessing.

A typical essential oil is a mixture of one hundred to four hundred chemical compounds. Their molecular structure is complex, which gives the oils diverse holistic therapeutic properties. Plants are also the most chemically diverse organisms.

In the human body, there are about 2 000 different molecules and in plants there are between 20 000 and 30 000. Plants are living here for much longer than us and they know how to communicate.

These oils, part of the immune system of the plant, protect it from bacteria, attract pollinating insects, and offer a chemical balance. For us, the essential oils are stress relieving or kidney strengthening, as well as antibacterial. Bactericidal essential oils are, to some extent, probiotic, which means ‘for life’ - only unwanted bacteria are eliminated, without harming those necessary for life. Sweet thyme and bergamot essential oils strengthen the immune system, while  sandalwood and juniper strengthen the kidneys, and basil is a digestive tonic.

One of our favorite exercises to cope with some aspects of the a busy/city life is to connected with the life force of nature. Using a roller to dispense a blend on your hands and then inhaling it, would immediately bring calmness and balance, but at the same time joy and aliveness.

Both music and essential oils also stimulate the limbic system, affecting our mood and stimulating hormones and chemical secretions in the brain. The limbic system governs our emotional response, and our emotional response is very much connected with our default mode of thought and behavior. This default mode network can become very entrenched in us.

Studies have shown that Essential Oils also disrupt the default mode network of our brain (our neurologic story).
